As the big day gets nearer, the one thing you don’t want happening is forgetting to bring something to the hospital with you. Most hospitals will advice you to pack your hospital delivery bag at least 2-4 weeks before your EDD (Estimated Delivery Date) as you never know when will your baby surprise you!
Most hospitals will provide the basic necessities for you and your newborn. When in doubt, check what the hospital will provide and what you need to bring along. For example, Thomson Medical Centre provides the following for newborns:
- A baby bag
- Baby vest
- Disposable diapers
- Wet wipes
- Wrapping blanket
- A box of tissue paper (I guess after one box they will charge?? )
- Diaper protection cream
- Sterile cotton balls
- Cord spirit/spirit swab
- Newborn hat
